In May 2017 in order to comply with Manila Amendments IMMARBE have developed a new design of Endorsements. All Endorsements issued before May 17, 2017 were not in compliance with 2010 STCW Convention due to the fact that those Belize Endorsement Certificate made reference to Regulation I/2 paragraph 9 instead of the paragraph 11.

Ballast Water Management Convention was ratified in February 2004 and will enter into force on the 8th of September 2017. This Convention contains regulations for the control and management of ships ballast water and sediments with aimed to the prevention of transportation of undesirable microorganisms and pathogens through the ballast water. This Convention applies to all ships in international trade including submersibles, floating craft, floating platforms, FSUs and FPSOs.

The International Merchant Marine Registry of Belize (IMMARBE) in view of the concerns raised due to the entry into force of the 2010 Manila Amendments to the STCW Convention and Code, the non- inclusion of the new STCW Regulations into the Minimum Safe Manning Certificate (MSMC), and with the aim to provide a proper clarification on this matter, conducted the detailed review.

In order to comply with Manila Amendments IMMARBE have developed a new design of CRA. In this regard, the requirements regarding the submission of documents have changed.

On January 18th, 2017 new MLC, 2006 Amendments in regards to Regulation 2.5 regarding Repatriation and Regulation 4.2 regarding Shipowner’s Liability came into force.

Maritime Administration of Belize (IMMARBE) has revised the requirements for certification of Certificates of Competency (COC).

From September 01, 2016 Certificate of Proficiency for Ship Security Officer no longer needs to be endorsed by IMMARBE.

Ukrainian Designated Office of Maritime Administration of Belize issues a endorsements to national COC in the shortest time. The company "Maritime Safety Management Ltd" is authorized to issue all necessary documents for the registration of ships and yachts, as well as documents for the crew in compliance with STCW 78/95 and the Manila amendments.
