Ship Security Officer Certification - Revised Requirements

Maritime Administration of Belize (IMMARBE) has revised the requirements for certification of Ship Security Officer Certificates (SSO) (Regulation VI/5, STCW Convention).

Earlier the Administration required all deck officers to hold SSO certificates issued by Belize. Now IMMARBE revised this requirement as follows: all Belize-flagged vessels should carry two Ship Security Officers. One certificate should hold the Master and the second one should hold a member of deck or engine crew.
