Revised Certification Requirements for SSO

According to the issued Circular from September 01, 2016 Certificate of Proficiency for Ship Security Officer no longer needs to be endorsed by IMMARBE.

Belize-flagged vessels should hold one Ship Security Officer and such shall be a management level officer. This duty be executed by the Master, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer or Second Engineer, who shall hold a valid SSO Certificate of Proficiency issued by, or on behalf of, any credible Administration (Member Party of STCW Convention) in accordance with STCW Convention and code. We draw your kind attention to the fact that SSO certificates issued by Training Centers cannot be accepted.
